Shining a light on our volunteers in the north of the state
Our volunteer recognition events continued with a celebration in Launceston late last week.
These events are an opportunity to shine a light on the wonderful contribution our volunteers make to CTST and their community.
At the event, we announced the northern recipients of our annual Doug Cooper Awards for volunteer recognition.
Congratulations to Christina Horder who was awarded the Doug Cooper Award for the north.
Christina has been with us for five years during which time she has gone above and beyond to help transport our consumers. In the words of her nominator: “Christina is always willing to help CTST and her clients.”
Because of You awards were given to Peter Griffin for providing a safe, friendly, and professional service, along with Doug Townsend for his positive, friendly, can-do attitude.
We also recognised our other northern nominees:
Graham Horder – for his commitment to CTST and the exceptional service he provides.
Vern Moir – for his willingness to do long drives and his care for consumers.
Congratulations to all our volunteers in the north who do a wonderful job keeping our consumers connected.
Our volunteer recognition awards are named in honour of Doug Cooper who was a long-standing and well-respected board member and volunteer of CTST. Doug was the first to receive life membership for his 20-plus years of service. His aim was to provide quality transport for our consumers and ensure that our volunteers were supported in their role with us.
