CTST & MCCA Merger Conclusion

The merger between Community Transport Services Tasmania (CTST) and Mersey Community Care Association (MCCA) is now completed.

This is a significant milestone in the long history of both of our organisations—the product of many years of discussions, exploration and planning. Through this process, the CTST and MCCA Boards came to believe that joining together was the best way to achieve our shared vision and commitment to delivering high-quality services to our clients to live independently and well-connected in their community.

Key motivators to making the decision to merge were our alignment of values, combined with the opportunity to increase our statewide presence and have a more diverse range of services to benefit our clients across Tasmania.

The result of this merger is a very special Tasmanian organisation, with our impact reaching over 10,000 Tasmanians from all parts of the state. As one we have the ability to design our own future, in response to community needs, as a leading organisation providing a broad range of necessary services to support Tasmanians, today and into the future.

We are particularly pleased that our new organisational structure was achieved whilst ensuring positions for all workers across the combined business.

I would like to acknowledge the work of the CTST and MCCA teams relating to the merger, carried out while simultaneously delivering high-quality services to our consumers. It is a testament to the team’s professionalism and commitment that we have all worked smoothly together to achieve this result.

This is an exciting step for both organisations as we look to strengthen and grow our service and continue to focus on the highest quality support for all our clients.
