The Area Connect and CTST teams have celebrated the outstanding achievement of over 50,000 trips since the project’s inception, with The Hon. Felix Ellis MP, Minister for Skills and Training in attendance, along with many of our strategic partners.

The Minister spoke enthusiastically in support of Area Connect, as did Jack Beattie, Director of JCLM Farming.

“Area Connect has allowed us to recruit workers who would otherwise not be available in a regional area such as Ouse due to lack of transport," said Mr Beattie.

“In the current labour market, this service has been crucial to our success."

With the support of the State Government through Jobs Tasmania and powered by CTST, Area Connect has continuously exceeded its goals to achieve over 50,000 trips in less than four years.

“Today, Tasmania has a first-of-its-kind, proven, and highly effective statewide jobs and training transport service. It is a service that does not duplicate existing transport, a service that goes where the demand is, a service that helps passengers build sustainable transport strategies, and—importantly—a service that celebrates passengers successfully exiting once they have built their own capacity,” said our CEO, Lyndon Stevenson.

"We are privileged to be in a position to help so many people get to work and training each day."

From humble beginnings, Area Connect has expanded to supporting over 100 businesses around Tasmania, at any given time, to transport their staff to work. Congratulations to the team for this outstanding milestone!
